There are team sports, which are definitely the domain of men, and women, if they decide to train them, are in a definite minority. Some of the team games for men have entered the group of Olympic competitions, some of them are still waiting for this honour. In this article you will find an overview of the most interesting and demanding, in terms of equipment and health, sports disciplines for men.
Team games for men - blood, sweat and tears
Team games harden the fighting spirit, mobilize the body to work hard, and allow players to demonstrate themselves individually. Sometimes an error of the unit decides about the failure of the whole game. Sometimes a lack of willingness to cooperate determines an unsatisfactory result. However, the gentlemen are still eager to do this type of activity, even if it requires many sacrifices, murderous training and the need to adapt to the group.
American football
American football is a team game in which two teams of eleven fight. It is a contact sport in which the representatives of both teams fight to get as many points as possible. Many people confuse it with rugby, but the rules of American football differ slightly.
The aim of the game is to get as many points as possible in a set time. The ball can be moved around the pitch in different ways - by kicking, throwing or simply handing it over from hand to hand between team members. Points can be scored in several ways: by moving the ball through the goal line, throwing the ball to the player behind it or kicking on the opponent's goal. If we're tied, the referee sets the time for overtime. If no winner is determined within this time frame, the match may end without a winner being determined.
Rugby
Rugby is a group of games, among which the most popular form of gameplay are:
- Rugby Union - a 15-person variant of the game, managed by World Rugby; it is the most common variety in Poland;
- Rugby 7 - which is an Olympic discipline, a seven-person variant of the game;
- Rugby league - a thirteen-person variant of the game.
There is also a non-contact form of rugby, also known as Parisian.
The general rules of this rather brutal game are as follows: the ball must be thrown through the goal of the opposing team, and the team that scores more points wins. The way of passing the ball is quite brutal, because you can charge a person who just holds an oval ball, and the passing can only be done backwards, which adds drama to the game and makes it interesting. Fortunately, a competitor cannot be kicked and fisted. The different rugby formations have their own additional rules.
Hockey
Ice hockey is much more popular in our country, but in many countries its cultivar grown on grass has equally many supporters.
A hockey game lasts three periods of 20 minutes each. On the pitch there are five players in each field and goalkeepers of both teams. The puck can be passed on with a stick, a skate or hands, from where on the pitch many interesting plays, which do not look too soft. There are certain restrictions, e.g. on handing over a puck between players of the same team or lifting a stick to a certain height. It is now clear why the players are wearing so many protectors and helmets.
